Flow Uganda, a financial institution that has been operating since 2018, has made a strong mark in the Ugandan lending space. Over the years, the company has disbursed over $180 million in loans mainly to small mobile money agents borrowing anywhere from UGX 250,000 to UGX 1,000,000, with flexible repayment terms (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).
This model has helped thousands of small business owners across Uganda access much-needed credit. But it hasn’t been without its challenges.

The Problem
While reaching thousands of small mobile money agents sounds impressive, the logistics behind it are tough. Flow Uganda needed over 80 sales representatives traveling across 30+ districts just to find and onboard these borrowers many of whom would generate as little as UGX 15,000 in revenue per month.
It didn’t take long for the team to realize that the cost of acquiring and servicing these small borrowers was eating into their profits.
They asked themselves a critical question: “What if we could find fewer, bigger clients instead?”
After doing the math, they discovered that one high-value customer borrowing UGX 50 million or more could be worth 100+ small customers. And yet, the effort required to find one large borrower was way less than chasing after 100 small ones scattered across the country.
The strategy needed to change.
The Shift: Targeting High-Value Clients
Flow Uganda decided to shift focus from small mobile money agents to larger businesses like restaurants, hotels, and other high-end establishments that require bigger loans. But to do this successfully, they needed a smarter way to reach decision-makers without deploying armies of sales reps.
This is where Trembi Sales AI came into the picture.
How Trembi Sales AI is Powering Flow Uganda’s Growth
Trembi’s Sales AI gave Flow Uganda an automated, scalable way to:
Find the right businesses (restaurants, hotels, and other enterprises in need of working capital)
Get direct access to decision-makers’ contacts (owners, managers, finance heads)
Engage potential clients automatically across multiple channels (Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and more)
Follow up persistently but politely without the need for manual human intervention
Instead of relying on foot soldiers, Flow Uganda now has an AI-driven engine quietly working in the background identifying, contacting, nurturing, and converting high-value clients.
The results?
Faster loan disbursement cycles
Higher average loan amounts
Lower customer acquisition costs
A growing loan book with healthier margins
Conclusion
